Melissa Huerta is a bilingual paralegal and native Spanish speaker dedicated to making the legal system understandable and accessible for those unfamiliar with its complexities. Born into an immigrant household, Melissa brings a deep, personal understanding of the challenges faced by undocumented individuals. She is a firm believer that lack of documentation should never be a barrier to asserting one’s rights or seeking justice. At DeGolia Law, she works to bridge linguistic and cultural divides, ensuring every client feels informed, empowered, and treated with respect.
Prior to joining DeGolia Law, Melissa interned at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, advocating for the needs of vulnerable populations across the Western Hemisphere. She also conducted extensive political research overseeing elections and public opinion in both the United States and Mexico.
Melissa graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Political Science and minors in Survey Research Data Analytics, Latin American Studies, and Spanish.
