Jenifer Rodriguez

Senior Litigation Attorney

Jenifer Rodriguez is a devoted civil rights and employment attorney with nearly thirty years of experience advocating for low-income workers and tenants. Before joining DeGolia Law, she served as Managing Attorney of the Farm Worker Rights Division at Colorado Legal Services, where she began as a Staff Attorney in 2007.  For over 19 years, Jenifer assisted farm workers in Colorado to challenge systemic injustices affecting their lives and livelihoods by bringing civil actions enforcing federal and state wage-and-hour laws, fair employment practices, and civil rights protections. She also represented survivors of labor trafficking, assisting them in securing immigration relief and pursuing federal civil claims under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act.

Jenifer’s expertise extends to policy work at the state and federal levels on issues impacting farm workers and tenants. Jenifer was instrumental in the drafting of Colorado Senate Bill 21-87, which extended basic labor protections to farm workers—protections long denied in ways that perpetuated racial and economic exclusion. Earlier in her career, she represented low-income tenants in Colorado and Boston and, in 2005, she brought a precedent-setting case in federal court and helped in the drafting of Colorado House Bill 05-1169 to protect survivors of domestic violence from eviction.

Jenifer was raised in Colorado. She earned a B.A. in Political Science from California State University, Chico and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law (1997). She brings deep commitment, litigation experience, and policy expertise to her work protecting vulnerable workers and families.
